Hiiii guys its Palavi and hey hey I am back I'm in high School now and I still live in Hastings, today I will be sharing a speech with you guys that we are actually doing right now in English its about Katherine Wilson Malcolm Sheppard.
We can all be heroes.
My definition of a hero is someone who is caring and thinks of others before thinking of themselves. Someone who is not selfish and someone who actually represents the word "HERO". A hero is someone who is admired for their courage. A hero is somebody who inspires and guides people to take the right path. Someone who is nice and does what needs to be done at the right time. Being a woman herself made it difficult, men thought women should just stay at home and do duties, but Kate thought differently she wanted to be able to make political decisions and the right to vote. the first reason why Katherine Wilson Malcolm Sheppard is my hero because she asked the government for the right for women to vote. She was an active member in her church and was very religious. Later in her life she became a big leader in the fight for women's rights. Kate was very strong. She was the prominent member of the women's suffrage movement in New Zealand and the country's most famous suffragette.Secondly in 1885 Kate Sheppard founded the women's christian campaign. Several tries failed until New Zealand parliament finally agreed to give women the right to vote in 1893. Two years after WCTU's creation Kate was named the leader of its suffrage. She changed many women's life. Final reason why she is my hero because she is the main person behind in making New Zealand the first country in the world to vote. She believed woman should be able to make their own income and not smooch off their husband's for money.
She left a great legacy behind.
