The Legend of Why Dogs Chase Cats.

     

       Long, long ago there was a dog called Milo. He lived just across the rivers in Roha. He was so alone and had nobody to play with. But one day when he was walking he saw nine dogs playing. Milo said ” It would be good if I was playing with them.” Milo went and asked them “Can  I play with you?”  The dogs said “Wait a minute who are you and where do you live?”  “My name is Milo and I live just across the rivers in Roha.” “OK” said the dogs and then they went behind the tree and discussed about Milo. They came out from  behind the tree and said to Milo that they needed to discuss it with their dad jack. ”OK” said Milo. Milo agreed with the dogs. The dogs went to their dad and said” dad a dog called Milo had came from Roha and wants to play with us. Can we agree him to play with us. “Yes sure you can agree with Milo now” said jack. The dogs came and said to Milo you can play with us now. “Lets go and play hide and seek” said Milo. OK said the nine dogs. While the nine dogs were hiding Milo saw four large wild cats passing by the road and coming this side towards where Milo was standing. “What is your name?” said Milo. “Our names are Angel, Cuddly, Danny,Gore.” Milo said” What are you doing here?”. “You dogs are annoying us” said Angel.” We can’t play because you are playing at our place.” She said. “OK” said Milo,” we will go away but one thing, we are not bothering you.  OK bye.” When the dogs were gone away the cat planned to kill them. From that day the cat started to hate dogs. The dogs started to hate cats too. Because cats hate dogs so much they decided to kill them. Angel the cat said “We should call them for dinner”   

“Yes that’s a good idea” said the other cats.”We will pour Poisson in the food and they will die. “Cuddly said “I will call them.” ”OK” said Cuddly. In the afternoon the cats called the dogs for dinner. When the dinner was ready the cats poured the poison in the food. The dogs came near the door and knocked. The cat ran and opened the door. “Welcome dogs said Cuddly. Come in we all were waiting for you.” said cats. The dogs came inside. The dinner is nearly ready said the cats.” ” Come and sit down on the chair. The cats said” we have made chicken soup. Wow said the dogs.

When the dogs were passing the table they looked at a bottle full of poison. O my god that is so mean the cats want to kill us said Milo. Milo said i think they have poured the poison in our foods. From that day the dogs started hate cats so much.

Safety rules for optimist yachting.

Before putting the boats on the water a safety check must be made. You need to ensure that the 3 buoyancy tank bungs are screwed in place so that if the boat capsizes it won’t sink. The

clip must be secured with figure of 8 knots needing to be tied to the sprit rope, mainsheet rope and the kicker rope too. Don’t forget to also check that the rudder is clipped in place properly.

If you are sailing in the boat you need to watch for others sometimes. it is important that you have to wear a life jacket because if you fall down in the water so you can float.

If the teachers blow the whistles you have stop listen or come back.

If you are in trouble on the water you need to wave your arm or arms above your head so you can get helped out.

Pandora pond can be very busy sometimes because people come to swimming yachting or kayaking. Sometimes we have to look because the tides may come up you have to be carefully.

Production reflection.

DEAR Diary:

It was our first performance on Wednesday. In the morning first we went and had our moko stamped on our chins. Then we went to room 20.  They were performing with us too. I was so happy that room 20 is performing with us, because there were some of my friends in that room.
 On Wednesday we had to perform in front of everyone in the school. I like the production so much and it was so fantastic. I loved it. My favourite part  was the kotahitanga and super star dance. There were so many fabulous performances.

       Te Mata o Rongokako the giant is dead! Hinerakau has thrown herself off the hill!

Rongokako the giant had done his two tasks but one last task was left. That task was to take a bite of the hill. When he took a bite, something terrible happened. He choked on a rock when he was taking a bite of soil off the hill. The rock became stuck in his throat and then he fell on his knees and collapsed the ground. No one could help she ran to the hill but her heart was broken. Oh!! poor Hinerakau and Rongokako

How do Stars in the Universe Impact us here on Earth?

I am going to explain to you about how the sun impacts us here on earth.

      The sun is a special star that is made up of a ball of gas. If you go close to the sun you will have to wear  sunglasses  or you will burn your eyes.

  

The sun is about  150 million km  from the earth. The sun looks much bigger than the other stars in the sky. This is because the sun is the star closest to earth.

When two hydrogen atoms crash together they form helium energy.We feel this heat on Earth.

The sun has layers just like an onion does. The sun moves through all the layers until it reaches the corona which is 1.1 million ∘c.

It takes one million years for the energy to travel  from the core of the sun to the corona ; and eight minutes to reach the Earth. Day becomes  night on the parts of earth that moves away from the sun.

What if were outside  during the day and the sky it suddenly turned dark? This can happen during a solar eclipse.Solar eclipses  takes place  when the moon passes in front of the sun.

The sun causes the weather on  earth. Sunlight warms the water in  lakes, ocean, river. The warm water rises and forms clouds that carry rain and snow and it is the water cycle. The sun’s warmth causes the water cycle.
